About Us
We’re based in Chiswick, where we have our own Scout H.Q. and garden called The Ranch and we’re right behind Chiswick House and Gardens, whose grounds we can use for outdoor activities.

We have over 100 boys and girls in our Group, many of whom work their way through the Sections from age 6 all the way up to 18. And some return to lead!
We have 4 Sections
We are led by our Group Lead Volunteer Yvonne (Von). She and her husband Leon have been leading the Group for literally decades. Von is also the current Acting Beavers Leader. They are supported by 14 Volunteer Leaders and a Trustee Board.

Our aim is to support young people in becoming:
Scouting encourages children’s personal development by:
- Building confidence and independence
- Learning practical life skills (camping, cooking, navigation, making things)
- Developing resilience through challenges and outdoor activities
- Encouraging a sense of adventure and curiosity
A big part of Scouting is learning to work with others:
- Learning Teamwork through group activities
- Learning Respect for each other
- Understanding Community
In short, our aim is to support young people in becoming:
- Confident individuals
- Responsible young people
- Active contributors to society
The Ranch is within the Chiswick House and Gardens car park alongside the A4, backing onto Park Sports. We have been based here since 1952, but the Group has been operating since 1932!
We started in a classroom at Belmont School, moved to the playground in The Ranch. When the Council wanted the playground back they gave us our present site at a peppercorn rent of £1 p.a. Parents of the Scout Group moved the building by hand from Belmont Rd to its present location. Later the kitchen areas were added, then the Leaders room and what are now store rooms and lastly the canopy over the backdoor.
