6:30 – 7:30 pm / Monday / Age 6 – 8

At the beginning and end of each meeting we all raise our hands in a Beavers salute and repeat after the nominated Beaver:
“I promise,
to do my best,
to be kind and helpful,
and to love God
(or “my world”).”
Our Beavers can join from age 6, at the beginning of a new term or after a half term. Once they turn 8, they will move to Cubs, again starting at the beginning of a new term or after a half term.
A mix of boys and girls, they are divided into four ‘lodges’, which enables them to work together in their lodges to create and craft things, or compete together against the other lodges in games or activities. This helps them to build friendships, confidence and teamwork.
Activities vary enormously. Most meetings involve a game or two and a main activity, which might be making something, hearing a talk, or perhaps cooking, all working towards earning badges for skills learnt.
Particularly in the summer term when the weather allows, we play games outdoors, either in our garden or in Chiswick House Gardens.

Investing Beavers
After a couple of trial meetings, new joiners will be invested into the colony assuming they want to join. At the end of the appropriate meeting, the Leader will invest the new Beavers. There is a short ceremonial procedure. Parents are welcome to come and see this and take photos for their own use. Will will let you know in advance when investitures are going to happen.
Interested in joining the fun?
We are not always able to offer an immediate place for your child, but we are happy to add their name to our waiting list and will get in touch if a suitable vacancy becomes available.
